The Value Stream is all the actions (both value-added and non-value-added) currently required to bring a product to the customer. Value Stream Mapping (VSM), therefore, is mapping all those processes so that the entire team or organization can visualize everything that happens in that process or in a particular patient’s journey. A Value Stream Map allows you to identify every process in the flow, bring them to the forefront for everyone to see in order to create a Future State based on lean principles.
This course is a hands-on experience to enable healthcare providers and administrators to analyze their entire value streams through VSM. It presents the concepts and methodologies and provides case studies and real-life applications showing how other healthcare organizations have used VSM to improve their processes and, in consequence, the care they deliver.
